lasting light.

Light study

From the first sketch to evening light.

Every house starts as a pencil sketch. Scroll to watch it become a model, take on timber, glass and water, then catch the evening sun.

About the studio

We design homes, hotels and workplaces around light, proportion and the way people really live. Every project starts as a line on paper and ends as a place that feels calm, honest and built to last.

Design is not only what you see. It is how a room feels at seven in the morning and again at midnight.

Plan study

Every room starts as a line on a plan.

Before materials and light, there is the plan. Scroll to watch Casa Alba Residence drawn the way we draw every project: walls, openings, dimensions, furniture, then the ideas behind it.

From drawing to built

Every room we hand over existed first as a drawing. Slide across Linen Apartment to see how closely the finished apartment follows the section we drew on day one.

How we work

Five steps from the first visit to the day you move in.

01

1 to 2 weeks

First visit

We walk the site or the rooms with you, listen, measure and photograph. You leave with a short brief written in your own words.

02

3 to 6 weeks

Concept

Sketches, simple card models and a first idea of cost, so we agree on direction before anything becomes expensive.

03

2 to 4 months

Design and permits

Detailed drawings, materials and planning applications, coordinated with engineers from the very start.

04

6 to 14 months

Construction

We are on site every week with the builder, checking details, samples and the budget, so nothing is decided by accident.

05

2 to 4 weeks

Handover

Snagging, styling and a final walk through together. We come back after a year to see how the place is being lived in.

Material library

Eight materials we keep coming back to.

We would rather use a few honest materials well than many badly. Each one is chosen to age slowly and to look better after ten years of use.

Portrait of Marta Reis, owner of Casa Alba Residence

“They listened for a long time before drawing a single line. Two years on, the house still surprises us with the way the light moves through it in the evening.”
