The brief

A 60 cover neighbourhood bistro in a narrow Paris shopfront that needed to feel generous, warm and never loud.

The approach

One long curved banquette in rust leather, set on an oak plinth, runs the length of the room, with a terrazzo floor and acoustic plaster above. Light sits low on the tables so the ceiling stays dark.

The outcome

The room seats more people than before and is quieter. Most evenings are booked two weeks ahead.
