The brief
A house on a steep cliff over the Atlantic that had to resist strong wind and salt while opening every room to the horizon.

The approach
The house is a single concrete volume anchored into the rock, with a long cantilever over the slope. Windows are set deep in the walls to protect them from the weather.

The outcome
From every room the only view is the sea. The concrete has weathered into the colour of the cliff around it.
